American Gold Eagles - A Stunning St. Gaudens-inspired Design
The obverse of the American Eagle Gold Coin was originally designed by noted sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens for the U.S. $20 gold piece which was minted between the years of 1907 to 1933. The obverse design features the stunning image of a full-length figure of Lady Liberty holding aloft a torch in her right hand with an olive branch in her left hand. The background displays images of a sunrise with the United States Capitol dome also features. The coin's obverse also will bear an inscription of the word "Liberty" and also containing both the individual mint mark of origin and coin's date of issue.
The coin's reverse side depicts an image of an American male bald eagle carrying an olive branch while flying towards his mate in a nest that holds their hatchlings.
